Microbiologist I

Eurofins is searching for a Microbiologist I in Madison, WI.

This position based in our Madison, WI facility is focused on the technical engineering side of food safety.

Microbiologist I responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following :

• Use of proper handling procedures and aseptic technique.

• Perform all functions relating to sample preparation through sample completion.

• Perform confirmation work.

• Provide training on applications as needed.

• Perform project work as needed.

• Able to troubleshoot work.

• Create and revise forms, work instructions or SOP's with guidance.

• Document work and maintain laboratory records.

• Plan for assigned workload on a daily basis and effectively schedule multiple assignments.

• Contributes to a cohesive team environment.

• Maintains a clean and safe laboratory work environment.

• Facilitates the work flow for other microbiologists in the lab

• Reviews sample login prior to samples testing being initiated in the lab

• Performs other related duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate would possess :

• Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills

• Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude

• Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies

Basic Minimum Qualifications :

• BS in a related field and 2-4 years of experience

• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Position is full-time, Tuesday - Saturday noon- 8:30 p.m., with overtime as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Madison, WI are encouraged to apply.
