Domtar is seeking candidates with Operational and Maintenance skillsto jointheMarlboroMill inBennettsville, SCwhereapproximately750 tonsof whitepaper and 350 tonsof market pulpare produced daily.

Job Summary

In these positions, you will operate, troubleshoot and resolve problems in the mill's highly technical, advanced manufacturing process while working within a team environment.

Starting pay $23.52/hr with $0.57/hr Continuous Process Allowance (CPA). Base wage increases to $25.72/hr with $0.65 CPA after successful six-month evaluation. Once you successful complete a six-month evaluation, you are eligible to obtain your first skill block, which would then increase your base wage to $30.33/hr with $0.80/hr CPA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates and corrects problems by monitoring processes and equipment and informing other technicians of issues as needed.
  • Troubleshoots equipment by noticing/investigating problems, performing repairs or submitting work notifications for repairs
  • Maintains proper documentation for processes and equipment
  • Performs housekeeping duties
  • Performs work responsibilities in a safe manner by adhering to safety procedures. Review and/or recommends updates to safety procedures.
  • Assists with writing of SOPs, training, and/or safety procedures by reviewing and updating.
  • Performs specific functions as defined in certified skills.
Qualifications:
  • Preferred - minimum two (2) years of continuous employment in a manufacturing facility or an Associates degree in engineering, science, mechanical technology, or electronics
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Willing to work rotating 12-hour shifts in a team environment for a 24/7 mill operation which includes: nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Willing to work in an industrial environment, including: inside, outside, at heights, and inside confined spaces
  • Ability to train in and comprehend complex process systems
  • Excellent prior work history and safety record
  • Experienced skills in troubleshooting and problem-solving
  • Strong math comprehension and skills which includes a minimum score of 6 on WorkKeys Applied Math
  • Strong communication and interpersonal relationship skills
  • Dedicated team player with a "can do" attitude
