- Assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating and if necessary, delegating patient care to a specified group of patients.
- Provides care for the neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult or geriatric patient (as defined in the unit scope of care).
- Involves appropriate parties (i.e. patient's family or guardian, outside agencies) in the assessment, treatment and continuing care of the patient as needed.
- Utilizes knowledge of the principles of growth and development appropriate to the patient's age to ensure that care provided meets the unique, physical and psychosocial needs of the patient.
Required:
- Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse.
- BLS certification (American Heart Association); additional Life Support training as applicable to unit requirements.
- ACLS Certified within probationary period
- required to lift a minimum of 35 pounds as determined by the nature of the nursing unit
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program; basic professional nursing degree (BSN or MSN) preferred.
- 2 years of experience in a supervisory position as a registered nurse
- 2 years Critical Care experience
