REPORTS TO: Senior Manager, Materials and Logistics

SUPERVISES: Logistics Coordinators, COSAL Outfitting Manager, Logistics Manager - Yard Operations

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage inventory quality and accuracy assurance programs, to include cycle counting implementation and maintenance of program.
  • Assist in implementation of MMAS compliant processes. Lead in developing, documenting Logistics processes, audits, metrics and presentations to support MMAS.
  • Oversee all work package fulfillment operations to ensure effective and efficient processes are being used. Drive on-time and accurate delivery to meet production needs and internal customer satisfaction.
  • Perform as IFS functional lead. Illustrate areas where IFS is not being utilized fully. Work with business integration to increase functionality and perform operational testing prior to deploying new functionality. As system super-user, trouble-shoot issues, train new users and specify functional enhancements.
  • Oversee logistics and warehouse activities for COSAL (consolidated shipboard allowance list), to ensure contractual requirements are being fulfilled.
  • Responsible for development and implementation of GFE (Government Furnished Equipment) inventory, reporting, and fulfillment operations, in accordance with contractual requirements.
  • Overall responsibility for Yard Operations which includes, but is not limited to, the following: Consumables, KANBAN, Over the Road Transportation, and Tool Management.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining logistics and inventory metrics, including creation, data retrieval, communication, and automation/report writing.
  • Develops stock location and order picking strategies to optimize work flow and space utilization. Analyze material usage to improve material availability and inventory turns.

QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelors' degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Industrial Engineering is preferred. In lieu of degree 4 additional years of relevant experience can be considered.
  • 10+ years in warehouse or distribution center operation required. Experience with support of manufacturing operations strongly preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of inventory control procedures, databasemanagement, inventory flows, and inventory/accounting relationships.
  • Experience with ERP systems like IFS or SAP required.
  • Knowledge of MMAS standards desired.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Visio, Access, Crystal Reports and SQL a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.
  • Professional, motivated and able to work proactively & autonomously.
