Job Description Summary

This is an entry level Human Resources position that serves as the "First Point of Contact" to provide administrative and/or specialized support to all plant operations. You will interact with team members in Human Resources, Production, Payroll, Finance, Engineering, Maintenance, Safety, Quality, and Agriculture Services. This position performs somewhat complex and moderately repetitive work assignments. After initial training, works Night Shift, 6:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. with flexibility to cover for team mates as necessary.

Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follow all plant safety policies and procedures. Be actively involved in safety, participate in safety programs, engage in safety activities, perform risk assessments, and demonstrate ownership as well as leadership in personal safety and the safety of other team members.
  • Provide professional, positive Customer Service for all external visitors and team members.
  • Answer incoming telephone calls; assist callers and/or forward to appropriate personnel.
  • Welcome on-site visitors, determine reason for visit, announce visitors to appropriate personnel.
  • Responsible for checking in Visitors/Vendors and ensuring they sign in properly.
  • Monitor visitor access and Visitor Logs.
  • Required that they verify all crewing for the week after it is released. Demonstrate the ability to correctly use the HRIS system responsible for Scheduling team members.
  • Perform timecard reconciliations.
  • Monitor On-premises Reports during shift.
  • Approve/deny team member vacation requests as needed.
  • Monitor timekeeping systems to ensure team members arrive on time; enter attendance comments as necessary.
  • Monitor Time & Attendance, then issue attendance warnings to team members. Notify HR team when team members' attendance becomes excessive.
  • Enter payroll adjustments as needed.
  • Document team member call-ins and check call in emails throughout the shift, then update Replacement Sheet to ensure accurate crewing.
  • Assist with new hire orientation.
  • Assist team members at self-service kiosk as needed.
  • Create, maintain, and update company security badges for team members and contractors.
  • Perform other administrative duties as needed such as filing, copying, and faxing.
  • Maintain an HR Daily Log throughout the shift that is emailed to the HR team at the end of your shift.
  • Must be available for Day Shift and Night Shift with flexibility.


    Basic & Preferred Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:
    • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and have a minimum of 2 years in administrative work or any equivalent combination of education, or training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
    • Read, understand, and obey all plant rules and practice safety as outlined in the employee handbook.
    • Practice proper body mechanics and safe lifting techniques.
    • Be knowledgeable of the potential hazards and safety procedures associated with the task being performed.
    • Actively practice and abide by all Company work, safety, and personal hygiene rules and regulations as outlined in the employee handbook.
    • Must be able to work independently and as a team player, be organized, and plan ahead.

    Education:
    • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) recommended.
    • Some college preferred.

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
    • Bilingual (Spanish/English) fluency is a plus.
    • Human Resource knowledge and experience is preferred.
    • Experience with an HRIS system like Kronos and scheduling software is preferred.
    • Solid computer skills including MS-Windows, Word, Excel, and web-based applications.
    • Ability to maintain Confidentiality required.
    • Ability to communicate clearly, effectively, and professionally on the phone, face-to-face, and via company email.
    • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with team members and supervisors.
    • Adapt to changes in schedules, work environment, and unexpected events.
    • Multitasking skills preferred.

    • Frequently required to sit for prolonged periods of up to 12 hours.
    • May occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

This compensation is specific to this position and takes into account a number of variables. Actual compensation may be higher or lower in the range posted based on various factors, including, but not limited to, job duties, experience and expertise. A candidate's work location could also impact the actual compensation being outside of the range to reflect local cost of labor. A reasonable annual estimate of the range for this role based on the variables previously mentioned is: $39,050.00 - $58,580.00
