Position Overview:

The Operational Technology (OT) Cybersecurity Threat Intelligence Analyst performs a critical role in ensuring the safety, security and resiliency of Motiva OT and Industrial Control Systems (ICS) environments. The role requires a deep understanding of intelligence analysis, threat and vulnerability management within the Oil and Natural Gas (ONG) industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and enhance the maturity of the OT threat intelligence program.
  • Assess the potential impact of identified threats on Motiva OT and ICS environments.
  • Provide support to the Incident Response (IR) team by furnishing intelligence insights and Indicators of Compromise (IOCs) for timely detection and mitigation of cyber threats.
  • Proactively conduct threat hunting activities within the OT environment to identify anomalous behavior and indicators of Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs).
  • Stay abreast of the latest cybersecurity trends, attack techniques, and threat actor Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) through continuous research and knowledge sharing.
  • Prepare comprehensive threat intelligence reports, briefings, and presentations tailored to various stakeholders, including senior leadership, IT/OT teams, and external partners.
  • Disseminate actionable intelligence to relevant teams for proactive risk mitigation and IR planning.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with industry affiliates, Information Sharing and Analysis Centers (ISACs), and cybersecurity communities to enhance collective defense capabilities.

Experience and Qualifications Required:

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Information Security, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or equivalent experience with 5+ years working in the ONG industry analyzing Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT), dark web sources, and proprietary intelligence feeds to identify emerging cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Experience utilizing intelligence platforms, SIEM and OT security solutions for threat detection and analysis.
  • Proven analytical skills with the ability to interpret data sets and identify patterns indicative of threats.
  • Proven ability to work independently or collaboratively, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years' experience in the ONG industry analyzing Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT), dark web sources and proprietary intelligence feeds to identify emerging cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Experience with Anomali, Dragos and Tenable cybersecurity solutions.
  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing cyber landscape and stay current with emerging threat trends.
  • Relevant industry certifications from organizations including GIAC (GCTI, GICSP, GRID) and OffSec (OSCP).
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations, standards and frameworks including NIST CSF, ISA 62443, C2M2.
  • Comprehensive understanding of SCADA, Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and other OT/ICS technologies.
