This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working 3 days a week in either our New York City or London office.

The individual in this role will provide forward-looking strategic HR counsel for several members of Marsh McLennan's Technology Leadership Team (TLT) under our CIO, Paul Beswick, including one or more of the following: the Head of our Colleague Technology organization, the Senior Technology Leader in charge of our Enterprise CRM platform, the CIO of one of our business unit Technology teams, the Head of our Application Maintenance organization - as well as their respective leadership teams.

In total, this People Partner will look after a global population of ~800 colleagues and ~300 contingent workers. Additional client responsibilities may be added over time. The People Partner owns the relationship with these leaders and leverages resources from our Centers for Excellence (Talent Acquisition, Talent & Inclusion, Total Rewards, Employee Relations), as well as the assistance of HR peers inside and outside the Tech HR team, to deliver exceptional service to their clients. The role is responsible for supporting these leaders to develop and execute on talent strategies and solutions that enable them to meet their business objectives.

As an advisor on people strategy, the People Partner collects information to help diagnose talent issues and priorities and presents insights to business leaders and the Technology CPO to inform decision making and shape strategic plans.

What can you expect?

  • The People Partner will collaborate with colleagues in COEs including our HR Managers to implement initiatives across the full range of HR solutions. The role is expected to proactively look for opportunities to drive consistency and deploy enterprise-wide solutions within the business, tailoring where necessary to meet local business needs.
  • You'll become immersed into business' operations, staying abreast of business and workforce challenges, human capital needs, and people-related gaps in capabilities.
  • You'll proactively engage with HR Managers to establish a strong partnership enabling smooth implementation of programs and solutions and to gain insight into patterns in People Manager behaviors and issues across the business.

We'll count on you to:

  • Partner with the business to ensure our talent meets our aspirations (hiring, retention, development, etc.)
  • Contribute to the talent management strategy to support employee engagement for the business/geography in partnership with the Talent Management Center of Expertise; Assess training needs, guides leaders through the talent review and succession planning process and collaborate with the HR Manager community to ensure our managers are effective developers of people.
  • Create, implement, and support competitive attraction/retention strategies for thebusiness in partnership with the Talent Acquisition COE.
  • Provide expertise to manage employee relations issues for the business/geography in partnership with MMC Employee Relations and Legal
  • Liaise with the Total Rewards and Talent Development Centers of Expertise to implement performance management and compensation year-end processes.
  • Oversee regular assessments of I&D health within business and collaborate with the business to help to shape and develop a robust I&D agenda.
  • Facilitate the change management process through communication by assisting employees in understanding and supporting organizational changes.
  • Execute special projects as Project Manager with overall responsibility for meeting timeline milestones and driving projects to completion.
  • Participate in other various HR Practices including hiring, disciplining, and terminating employees, conducting performance evaluations, career development discussions for team members, approving salary and bonus actions, and ensuring appropriate orientation and on-going education/training.

What you need to have:

  • Multiple years of experience, preferably in a large, globally matrixed organization
  • Experience supporting technology or operations organizations, or other highly technical client groups is a plus
  • Prior People Partner / HR Business Partner experienceincluding Employee Relations, compensation planning and performance management.

Marsh McLennan is committed to hybrid work, which includes the flexibility of working remotely and the collaboration, connections, and professional development benefits of working together in the office. All Marsh McLennan colleagues are expected to be in their local office or working onsite with clients at least three days per week. Office-based teams will identify at least one "anchor day" per week on which their full team will be together in person.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $108,500 to $216,800.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
