JOB DESCRIPTION

Self-starter procurement professional needed to execute the day-to-day procurement standard operating procedures for the Supply Chain Department including all purchasing activity, assisting in developing and maintaining relationships with all suppliers in a plant environment. Evaluate and maintain reports for inventory re-order while designing, implementing, and assisting in various purchasing strategies, procurement policies and inventory reduction initiatives to reduce supply chain cost performing as a back-up to Manager of Supply Chain in a detailed, dedicated, and structured manner. The ideal candidate will require very little supervision and be able to make much needed improvements in the planning process, be technically savvy and have experience with MRP.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Decision making where new products and services are concerned.
• Review current products and services and making sure they are delivered on time and meet the required standards.
• Coordinate and track pre-ship samples and needed documentation, (COA, technical data sheets, etc.)
• Sourcing new suppliers when applicable
• Supplier negotiations and relations.
• Responsible for Master Planning in current D365 ERP System and maintaining all records as it pertains to Procurement including standard cost update.
• Collaborate effectively with all levels of Management and functional disciplines (Production, R&D, Customer Service and Sales).
• Reviews market/vendor database regularly and provides guidance for maintaining and gathering various information from available resources.
• Involvement going forward in Perpetual Inventory Control initiatives when necessary.
• Assist in RPM MAP growth strategic policies.
• Ensures the least disruption to operations in the most effective and efficient means of accomplishment regarding procurement requests to include the proper documentation of materials and cost expenditures.
• Provide detailed weekly updates to Manager of Supply Chain.
• Collaborate effective procurement policies with Kirker Europe.
• Assist in bio based future initiatives.
• Improve, streamline, and automate current practices and reporting where possible

Minimum Job Requirements:

• 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in the procurement field.
• Proficient in ERP System Applications and must be proficient in Excel.
• Understanding of JUST-IN-TIME Inventory Management/Inventory Control protocols.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, taking ownership and adapting to ever changing business trends.
• Certification in CSCP helpful, or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong negotiation and computer skills.

Working Condition/Physical Requirements

Prolonged period of sitting at desk and working on computer.
Working with hands, arms and fingers.
Must be able to lift up to 15lbs.
Color vision to identify different colors.
Occasionally travel to trade shows or vendor/supplier meetings.
