Salary: $90,000.00 USD Annually - $115,000.00 USD Annually
Description: Our client is currently seeking a Production Manager. Reporting to the Director of Operations, this role is accountable for the day-to- day management, operation and execution of production within the facility. The Production Manager leads the production shift supervisors and plant floor production teams and ensures that production schedule is achieved on a daily, weekly basis and that all Safety, Quality and GMP requirements are met. This role ensures effective use of labor and is responsible to deliver on key metrics including cases per labor hour, labor cost per case, total yield, RFT, schedule attainment and safety.

This job will have the following responsibilities:

  • Ensure that shift personnel adhere to the highest standards of shop floor organization and plant cleanliness.
  • Ensures all SOPs, GMPs and guidelines pertaining to our food safety programs and other programs are followed.
  • Work to maintain budget for functional area.
  • Complete shift / daily & weekly reports on plant performance related to their areas of responsibility.
  • Ensure production reporting and production records are completed in accurate and timely manner
  • Ensure adequate staffing to meet production needs.
  • Ensure employees receive proper safety training, maintain a safe work environment and perform safe work practices; perform regular safety audits.
  • Manage employee performance and assist employees in making improvements to their performance through coaching, mentoring and administering performance reviews. Recommend, plan and/or implement employee training and skill development activities.
  • Communicate company and departmental issues and goals and facilitate employee growth and development through weekly team meetings, regular individual employee meetings, coaching, training, and company-offered learning opportunities.
  • Manage resources to optimize equipment, facilities, employees, methods and materials.
  • Supervise and lead a team of production supervisors, team leads and hourly employees during the off shifts.
  • Foster a culture of excellence, teamwork, and adherence to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and regulatory standards.
  • Train, mentor, and develop staff to ensure they meet the highest standards of performance and compliance.
  • Monitor and manage all manufacturing processes and equipment to ensure they operate efficiently (OEE) and in compliance with quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain production schedules, ensuring that production targets and timelines are met.
  • Address any production issues promptly and implement effective solutions.
  • Ensure that the production of customers' products meets or exceeds all quality and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure strict adherence to FDA and other relevant regulatory requirements in the production of beverages.
  • Collaborate with quality, maintenance, and engineering teams to maintain and improve product quality, equipment efficiency, and compliance.
  • Work with the Safety Manager to Investigate and report any accidents or safety violations, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Monitor and control production costs by optimizing resource utilization and minimizing waste.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related to production, quality, and compliance.
  • Provide regular reports to senior management on production metrics and KPIs.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency enhancement.
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase productivity, reduce costs, and enhance the overall efficiency of the night shift manufacturing operations.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Management or related field required.
  • 5 years of experience in an operational leadership role leading teams of 20+ direct and indirect reports.
  • Previous experience in food and/or beverage manufacturing/warehousing preferred.
  • Aseptic and ESL manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • 3 years of experience working with and on automated machinery and troubleshooting electrical mechanical equipment.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Basic understanding and application of mathematical skills to make production calculations and perform loss and waste analysis.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision making abilities.
  • Ability to work night shifts and adapt to changing schedules as needed is required.
