About IPSD

Caterpillar's Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L engines that not only power Caterpillar machines, but also power over 5000 other applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. Caterpillar's company strategy includes sustainability as one of four focus areas and IPSD is engaged and actively preparing green energy solutions for the future.

Job Summary:

IPSD has a great opportunity for a Production Technician II in the Commercial Department at the Seguin facility. As a Production Technician II, you are responsible for assembling Caterpillar diesel engines, reporting to Section Managers, and meeting customer and company demands.

What you will do:

  • Align and secure engine components according to work instructions
  • Install gaskets, seals, bearings, hoses, covers, and visual components with precision
  • Ensure that assembly parts and materials meet quality standards
  • Verify correct alignment of engine components using schematics and part prints
  • Operate forklifts and tuggers for material movement within the facility
  • Submit and assist with Continuous Improvement initiatives
  • Adhere to standard operating procedures and area-specific work instructions
  • Provide information to supervisors and managers regarding processes in the assigned area
  • Perform any other duties as assigned
What you will have:
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Mechanical inclination
  • Either 4 months of assembly/manufacturing experience or an Industry Certification

  • Strong attendance adherence
  • Additional industrial equipment experience (crane, forklift, etc.)
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to perform repetitive operations
  • Ability to lift up to 35lbs.

Additional Information:
  • $18.50/hour starting payrate
  • Monday - Thursday, 5:48AM - 4:18PM
  • Overtime as required
  • Relocation assistance is NOT available for this position
