Description:
The Production Technician performs a variety of routine production duties while adhering to Caterpillar's core values of integrity, excellence, teamwork, commitment, and sustainability. The Technician works within and across zones on the production floor in the areas of assembly, fabrication, paint or other production areas, ensuring safety, quality and standard work protocol are followed. The Technician uses basic tools to accurately assemble both purchased and manufactured parts into finished product, operates machinery, performs applications for blasting and painting, and uses welding equipment to perform basic tack and straight line welds.

All employees will be required to:
Perform all work in a manner that meets quality standards and safe job procedures
Perform all work in accordance with standard operating procedures and follows standard work to accomplish tasks
Perform tasks wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as: bump cap, hearing protection, safety glasses and safety shoes
Perform regular checks to ensure product meets quality standards
Engage supervisor to resolve problems and issues as they occur
Meet daily production level goals
Perform all necessary documentation in a timely manner
Maintain a clean and safe work area
Adhere to our core values of integrity, excellence, teamwork, commitment and sustainability

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule where attendance and punctuality are required
  • Ability to safely perform work accurately and thoroughly
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods, performing repetitive work
  • Ability to produce quality work at a sustained pace
  • Demonstrates ability to work in a team environment and work effectively with people regardless of age, gender, race, religion or job type
  • Demonstrates ability to follow directions and standard work
Top Candidates will also have:
  • 3-6 months of manufacturing and/or related work experience

Starting pay rate: $15.50/hr

Work location: Victoria, TX

Shift Options:

M W F 7:00-3:30 or M-F 7-11
  • Mon, Wed, Fri 7:00AM-3:30PM
  • Mon-Fri 7AM-11AM
Hours: This is a part time position. An a verage of 32 hours a week can be worked. Scheduled hours would be pre-approved and would fall between the hours of Monday-Friday 7a-3:30p. Change in schedule may be required with advance notice. Additionally, c urrent schedule offerings are subject to change with advance notice.,
