Overview / Job Summary:
The Recruiter, High School Programs will assist in planning and participate in new student recruitment functions for WSU Tech. Primary responsibilities include providing consistent communication with current and prospective students and their families. Recruiters will also assist in development, organization and coordination of WSU Tech recruitment functions beyond campus, coordination and assistance with selected outreach programs, participation and collaboration in recruitment events and programs on campus, as well covering assigned territory schools and community groups. Travel and some evening/weekend hours will be required.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will vary, but are not limited to:
 
    Promotes WSU Tech as an educational option with a focus on (but not limited too) graduating high school seniors. Provides college process advisement to dual credit students from assigned high schools guiding students in decision-making, assisting all students (not just advisees) seeking academic information, and directing students to resources within WSU Tech (e.g., financial aid, testing, and career services).Capable of public speaking to groups of varying ages (elementary to adult) and sizes (large to small). Provides campus tours and conducts information sessions to individuals/groups.Helps students understand the available support services at the college as well as community organizations in order to maximize their opportunity for successEffectively utilizes tools of communication, including email, telephone, face-to-face meetings, and electronic advising notes. This will also be done through providing a physical presence in area high schools for students to easily access college services.
As the Recruiter for the High School Programs at WSU Tech, you'll experience the excitement of guiding students on their journey to success. Witnessing the transformation as students move from high school to college can be a big journey. Being a supporting piece in their high school careers can lead to a positive growth in our economy!

Education:
    Associate Degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Required/Preferred Requirements:
    A natural blend of social/people-oriented motivation as well as task-oriented motivation in completing duties/responsibilities preferred.Experience in college admissions and/or advising preferred.Self-starter who is motivated to assist the college accomplish goals of recruiting and informing prospective students of their options with the college. Ability to speak and effectively communicate program information to both small and large groups of prospective and current students.Intermediate user-level knowledge of Outlook, Word and Excel are required. Knowledge of SharePoint is preferred.Strong analytical, decision making, and problem-solving ability. Ability to multi-task and prioritize with strong organization skills
