Job Description

The National Corn to Ethanol Research Center (NCERC) is excited to announce that
it is seeking to hire a research assistant professor who will conduct independent
research, manage the operation of the Fermentation Suite and support other projects
as needed.


The research assistant professor will assist NCERC's Director of Research and Director
of Fermentation in the design of self-initiated research projects as well as projects
that fulfill commitments made to external funding sources such as sponsored projects
and grants, and contractual projects; the research assistant professor will supervise
the training and mentoring staff/students before and during the execution of the
research projects; will author the documentation associated with project preparation,
execution and completion, such as the scope of work, protocol, and final report; He/
she will work with plant engineers and operators to manage the operation of the
Fermentation Suite, including regular maintenance, setting up trials, executing the
trials, cleaning up and reporting results after trials; the research assistant professor will
represent NCERC to attend meetings and interact with collaborators.

Further duties and responsibilities may be assigned based on the needs and goals of
the Center.


Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must have a doctoral degree in Engineering, and experience with
fermentation and lab testing is also required; advanced training in computer science is
preferred.
