Job Description:

Manages strategic and business decisions related to products and services utilizing the Operating and Execution model to create, develop, position and market the offerings with the objective of achieving profitable results for the business. This role will have responsibility for third party business turnaround and will have a net positive impact sales of existing MineStar products including Terrain and Command.

Job Responsibilities:

Business

  • Monitor the financial performance of third party and drive decisions that achieve cash flow positive results.
  • Align cost base with current/short term development/support needs.
  • Grow sales substantially with multi-year agreements.
  • Advise third party relative to supply chain needs, costs, and sourcing
  • Achieve P&L performance.
  • Assist in the development of a go to market strategy for the Developed Product.
  • Collaborate with and provide support to Caterpillar and Dealer sales teams for deal closure.
  • Operate within conformance of terms outlined.
  • Identify and provide guidance into Due Diligence for potential acquisition.
  • Identify and reduce risks to potential acquisition (liabilities, product performance, talent fight).

Product
  • Identifying stand-alone offerings (quick win, short term, longer term).
  • Assist in the development of a mutually agreeable strategy for the Developed Product in the Caterpillar Field of Use.
  • Assist in the development of Program Descriptions for creating the Developed Products.
  • Collaborate with engineering on integration need, timing, costs for those stand-alone solutions.
  • Assist third party delivering new product introduction gateway deliverables.
  • Identify current product enhancements (Terrain, Autonomous Hauling), value prop, and integration timing costs.
  • Advise third party on effective T4 staffing and skills necessary to provide product support.

People
  • Document skill sets required for product development, delivery, and support.
  • Determine existing resources within third party that are desired.
  • Identify ratios required to support various level of business.
  • Investigate longer term resource leverage (India, Mexico, Chile, etc.).

Background Experience
  • Deep mining technology experience in semi-autonomous and autonomous offerings.
  • Experience with 3D digital twin surface model management, machine learning, and geospatial data derived from GNSS, LIDAR, photogrammetry.
  • Marketing Sales and Support Agreements.
  • P&L management - achieving profitability targets.
  • New product introduction experience - developing product strategy and managing teams that deliver minimum marketable products.
  • Go To Market experience - defining strategic direction.
  • Organizational leadership - right sizing organizations to fulfill business objectives within P&L affordability.
  • Hands on technical experience performing land surveying.
  • Implementation of machine control and guidance technology.
  • Validation of technology products.
  • Sales leadership experience with mining company executives
