It's More Than a Job, It's a Career

Caterpillar's Energy & Transportation (E&T) segment is looking for a Senior Accounting Consultant to provide strategic consulting and support in the execution of E&T Profitability Reporting. This role will lead the Profitability Analysis Tool (PAT) reporting for the E&T segment, including both Accountable Reporting Tool (ART) and OPACC Analysis Tool (OAT). By partnering with both corporate and division teams, this role will ensure accurate, timely and complete profitability reporting for the segment. This role will also focus on continuous improvement and data integrity projects, while providing leadership on improved reporting to deliver deeper strategic insights.

What You Will Do:

  • Manage the E&T Profitability Analysis Tool (PAT), including data loads and curation.
  • Create financial reporting with a focus on driving increased insights.
  • Collaborate with E&T and Global Finance to execute standard reporting and improved data quality.
  • Ensures a strong control environment though data oversite and governance.
  • Provide financial reporting support to E&T Divisions, Group CFO and Senior Leadership Team.
What You Have:
  • Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent, and 8+ years of experience
  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision
  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems
  • Business Acumen: Knowledge of business concepts, tools and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in context of the company's business; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgement.
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors

  • This position can be located in Peoria, IL or Irving, TX
  • Domestic relocation assistance is available for those who qualify
