Overview

The Enabling Support Systems Engineer is an integral part of the Infrastructure Services Portfolio activities. The Engineer plays a role in the development service offerings and execution of roadmaps for the Naval Enterprise Networks (NEN) with a primary focus on on Enabling Services, NMCI Transport and Infrastructure on behalf of the NMCI user community at large in alignment with DoD, DON, NAVWAR, and PEO guidance and policies.

Responsibilities

As a technical leader, the Enabling Support Systems Engineer ensures the Contract Line Items (CLINs), proposals and other service offerings and projects are appropriately communicated and executed. The primary responsibility of the Enabling Support Systems Engineer is that of subject matter expert providing oversight for projects to install required hardware and facilities for network hardware platforms throughout the network life cycle. Facilities include Inside and Outside Service Plant, electrical and backup power, patch panels, and other elements found in network locations.

Additional responsibilities:

  • Lead, guide, and advise leadership in development of CLIN offerings or Contract modifications to address insufficient or newly required CLINs.
  • Provide technical leadership in CLIN interpretation and application and Technical Debt reporting.
  • Collaborate closely with Claimant Representatives, Government Contracts and Legal staff to address inquiries related to service offerings on behalf of the Claimant community.
  • Maintain documentation relevant to all inquiries and contractual/legal decisions associated with service offerings to include Technical Debt.
  • Engage proactively in cross-functional teams to address complex technical challenges and foster collaboration among essential partners.
  • Coordinate with multiple stakeholders to plan current and future funding requirements
  • Develop statements of work, collaborate with stakeholders to obligate funding via task order
  • Prepare meeting materials and briefs; summarize programmatic impacts.
  • Instantiate, maintain, and continually improve performance management programs within Enabling Support
  • Establish new processes, performance metrics, presentation and tooling instrumentation, program area interviews, collaborative working relationships, training and metrics.
  • Advise on acquisition, execution, transition, and integration
  • Review program documentation, attend program reviews, as needed, and provide comments, analysis and recommendations to the Government.

Qualifications

Master's degree in a STEM field, such as Computer Science or Information Technology or Ten (10) years of additional relevant work experience, or an Associate degree plus eight (8) years of additional relevant work experience.

In addition to excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, this role also requires familiarity with network topologies, hardware life cycle management and long term planning for delivery of required cabling/electrical/cabinetry for cost estimation and efficient deployment of life cycle replacements.

Data Analytics preferred but not required.

Active SECRET Clearance required.

Some travel required.
Pay Range

$150,000-$160,000
