The Role:
Manages and directs the project management team to deliver projects within scope, budget, and timelines. Establishes lean project management processes and standard ways of working in a manufacturing environment. Manages team through customer facing issues, while building customer relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for organizing, coaching, and nurturing the project team.
  • Responsible for execution of a portfolio of projects from award through installation.
  • Partner with global leaders to understand strategic goals and business objectives and priorities.
  • Establish lean standard processes, tools, and methodologies. Trains team on processes and continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate communication between cross-functional team members to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Provide project reporting to management staff with a focus on project progress, barriers to success, and financial forecasting. Understand techniques to identify and manage risk impact and exposure.
  • Actively participate in pre-bid reviews to identify and reduce project risk.
  • Interface with customers to support accurate flow of technical and commercial information. Evaluate and prioritize customer conflicts and escalations.
  • Understand development of quoted and booked project margins with accountability for meeting and driving improvements.
  • Understand portfolio cash collection plan and ensures to meet forecast.
  • Assess and develop project management team skills.
  • Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
  • Some travel may be required.

Required Experience
  • BS degree required. PMP certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in project management, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role. Customer facing or manufacturing project management experience preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage a large portfolio of projects in a changing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as customer specifications, contract terms, and proposals.
