Position Overview:

The role of the Senior Project Manager, Strategic Initiatives is to establish, implement, develop,

and control best practices for successful implementation of strategic projects throughout Cobb. The successful candidate will plan, organize, direct and lead process development and implementation and the direct management of key strategic projects to completion. This includes defining, documenting, and executing all projects and processes to deliver these projects within timelines and budget. Expertise in business focused/customized solutions along with experience of working with third party

specialist companies/contract management experience is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage project teams focused strategic initiatives, product development and research, from conception to implementation, delivering actionable insights and drive innovation.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams of geneticists, researchers, data scientists, and IT professionals to define project objectives, scope, and deliverables.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, and track progress against milestones and KPIs.
  • Oversee and monitor project data collection, processing, and analysis activities, ensuring data quality, integrity, and security.
  • Apply project management practices and principles to strategic initiatives to drive business objectives and operational improvements.
  • Support development, implementation, and training of program/project management tools and processes
  • Assess project status and results and communicate findings to stakeholders through clear and compelling visualizations, reports, and presentations.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and innovation across all functional areas.
  • Manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization/time management and problem-solving skills or focus on a high visible project through the phases to completion.
  • Knowledgeable of emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in project management, data analytics, genetics, and poultry science to inform decision-making processes and drive continuous improvement.
  • Prepare and present project updates, findings, and recommendations to senior management and other stakeholders as needed.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including senior management, sales, and marketing teams, to align R&D efforts with business goals and objectives.

Qualifications:
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Ag Business, Animal Science, Genetics, or a related field; advanced degree (MSc) preferred.
  • At least 6+ years of experience in managing technical projects, with a focus on animal or crop breeding, genetics and data analytic implementation.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex R&D projects in agriculture from conception to commercialization.
  • Strong understanding of genetics principles and methodologies, particularly as they relate to live animal genetics and breeding programs.
  • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to develop project plans, manage timelines and budgets, and track progress against goals.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams to achieve results.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, analyze data, and make data-driven recommendations and decisions.
  • Experience working in the live animal industry or agricultural biotechnology sector is a plus.
  • Project Management certifications including Six Sigma, Lean, Agile, PMP, Scrum is a plus.
