Shuttle Driver - $12.00/hour

Callville Bay, located within the Lake Mead National Recreation Area and managed by Guest Services, is now hiring a Shuttle Driver for the 2024 Season! The season starts on March 1st and goes through August 2024.

RV spaces will be available but are very limited.

This position pays $12.00 - $14.00/hour.

JOB SUMMARY

The Shuttle (land) is primarily responsible to assist customers with safe transportation to and from the marina, store, parking lot and launching areas to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Drive a golf cart and van to transport customers to and from the marina, store, launching and parking lot areas, in a safe and professional manner.
  • Greet and assist all customers in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Assist customers to enter and exit the vehicle, as needed.
  • Effectively and efficiently unload/load customer's luggage and supplies off/on personal vehicles, dock carts, golf carts and vans, as needed.
  • Maintain appropriate fuel and oil levels in shuttle vehicles, and maintain cleanliness of all shuttle vehicles, as needed.
  • Tell the Maintenance Manager of the need for routine and preventative maintenance for all shuttle vehicles.
  • Gather dock carts from marina and parking lots and return to designated areas in an organized fashion.
  • Provide excellent, professional customer service to customers, at all times.
  • Perform general janitorial duties such as pick-up litter in parking lots and sweep walkways, as needed.
  • Repair, secure and/or immediately report any and all safety hazards on property.
  • Perform work in a manner protective of human health and the environment and report any deviations of environmental policy to Administration.
  • Communicate with customers, Park Service and employees by VHF radio.
  • Know and follow all company, Environmental, Health and Safety Management Program policies and procedures.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work.
  • Work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Any other duties as assigned
  • Assist and/or perform duties of the water Shuttle as needed.
  • Sweep walkways and entrance ways; sweep, mop and power wash docks as needed to keep clean and free of litter.
  • Provide information to customers regarding the resort, the general area, and upcoming resort events.
  • Provide information to customers regarding rental vessels and vessel rental procedures and requirements.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or GED, preferred.
  • Six months to one year prior driving work experience, preferred
  • Previous Hospitality/Resort industry work experience working with the public preferred.
  • Read, write, understand and speak English to communicate with customers, co-workers and to follow instructions.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Good driving skills.
  • Excellent listening, organizational and customer service skills.
  • Consistently friendly, helpful in-person demeanor.
  • Able and willing to work holidays, weekends, on-call and overtime during periods of high visitation.
  • Able to work quickly and handle high volumes during peak hours in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of proper use of cleaning supplies and proper cleaning techniques.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Climb stairs and walk/move on a variety of surfaces including tiled, carpeted, concrete, unpaved, uneven and sometimes slippery surfaces.
  • Stand/remain upright for up to 4 hours at a time.
  • Sit/remain seated and drive/operate a golf cart and/or van up to 4 hours at a time.
  • Work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions including extreme cold, hot and stormy weather for entire shift.
  • Balance/stabilize, stand/remain upright and walk on uneven and moving surfaces (marina docks).
  • Bend, kneel, stoop and/or squat repetitively.
  • Twist and turn repetitively.
  • Reach down, forward, overhead repetitively.
  • Use and carry a VHF radio, daily.
  • Able to use general cleaning chemicals and supplies.
  • Push/pull dock carts.
  • Push/pull , lift and use a broom and mop daily.
  • Close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.
  • Able to lift, carry, load and unload luggage and other personal items, weighing up to 75 pounds.
