Sr. Mfg. Equipment Maintenance Technician - Utilities

Location: Greenville, NC

Shift Schedule - 12 hour shift (day/night rotation). The schedule rotates days/nights each week. You work two weekends in a row then off two.
Week 1: M T W TH - Days


Week 2: F S Su M - Nights

Week 3: F S Su - Days

Week 4: T W Th - Nights

Business information

The Greenville, North Carolina, USA site is a large, multipurpose pharmaceutical development, manufacturing, and packaging campus. The operation provides both development and commercial services for sterile injectables and oral solid dose forms.

How will you make an impact?
Provide continuity in operation and maintenance of the site utilities and infrastructure including steam systems (Plant and Clean), water systems (potable, non-potable, WFI, PFW, DW), and compressed air systems, vacuum systems, electrical distribution and generation on a continual basis to meet plant requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct activities of shift stationary engineer to ensure all clean and black systems meet production and non-production needs.
  • Ensure peak loading activities are implemented to reduce site electrical cost. Monitors utility equipment performance through field assessments, computer control and customer notifications to adhere to set standards while maintaining peak efficiencies.
  • Troubleshoot equipment including mechanical, electrical and control problems to maintain continuous support of the site facilities.
  • Perform equipment evaluations, maintenance reviews, scheduling and coordinating of equipment repairs along with general housekeeping.
  • Maintain the daily utility consumption and emission reports.
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance with shifts personnel to ensure maintenance is completed on-time.
  • Document conditions, actions, procedures and results of work or inspections performed as required by company policies and procedures.
  • Review and determine priority and urgency of multiple repairs and completing repairs in a manner to best suit the manufacturing organization.
  • Maintain and upgrade technical and nontechnical skills by participation in company and outside training programs.
  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean, safe, and orderly manner.
  • Work will be non-routine and based on the immediate needs of the department. The work demands of the job may change as any moment of the day and the employee with have to adjust to those demands.
  • Follow department work schedules, shifts, call-ins, stand-by, department coverage and overtime
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED is rminimally required, with at least four (4) years of industrial experience
  • Associate degree preferred, with 2-3 years of experience as noted above.
  • BS Degree in Engineering or related major preferred, with a minimum of one (1) year of progressive experience as noted above.
  • Pharmaceutical experience is preferred.
  • Ability to troubleshoot high purity water systems equipment and various Black utility systems.
  • Knowledge of electronic component recognition and operation a plus.
  • Skilled in problem analysis, planning and organization.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, attention to detail and teamwork skills.
  • Reading and comprehension of blueprints, manuals and training materials.
