Summary of Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Provides technical support and project consulting to both administrative and academic users and departments on campus.

  • Comprehensive endpoint management of Windows, Mac, mobile and thin client devices, including:
    • Patch management for OS and applications
    • Configuration management
    • Automated operating system deployment
    • Application package deployment
    • Use of tools such as SCCM/InTune, AD, JAMF, and ASM to support these activities
  • Configuration and support of user-facing components of virtual desktop infrastructure including:
    • Thin client hardware
    • Base image setup and deployment to shared desktop pools
    • Full virtual machine setup and deployment
    • Consulting on best practices
    • Billing, licensing, and usage tracking
  • Technical management of student printing system, including printer maintenance, application upgrades and troubleshooting
  • Provide classroom technology planning and support, including:
    • Consulting on classroom equipment and layout of technology
    • Troubleshooting classroom technology such as projectors, screens, and automation systems
  • Evaluate new software for use across campus, working with vendors as needed, to install, troubleshoot, and train the campus on technology solutions
  • Assist with management of academic, public, and virtual computer labs
  • This position will support the Murray State Police Department work unit and will be responsible for providing primary technical support for the Murray State Police Department and their systems by working with both MSUPD and Information Systems personnel. This includes maintenance, upkeep, implementation, and troubleshooting for both user desktops and enterprise systems under the control of the Murray State Police Department.

Minimum Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required
Minimum Experience and Skill Requirements:

  • One year of recent computer service/repair experience in a industrial or educational setting required
  • Computer configuration, troubleshooting and maintenance
  • Technical abilities associated with computer systems and computer networks
  • Ability to learn new and dynamic technologies as applied to computer systems
  • Good interpersonal communication skills and be able to work in a team environment
  • Ability to pass a Kentucky State Police background check required.
Preferred Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

  • Experience with alarm systems and IP security cameras preferred.
  • Experience with Public Safety Voice Recorders preferred.
