The International Property Facultative Team of Everest Reinsurance Company, a member of the Everest Re Group, Ltd. is looking for an Underwriting Assistant to join our Miami, FL office. This is a hybrid position working 3 days in office, 2 remote.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Work collaboratively with international property facultative underwriters on all aspects of rating and processing new and renewal business.
  • Receive submissions from clients and enter relevant data into systems.
  • Book premium in underwriting systems, issue slips and process endorsements.
  • Monitoring open items associated with reinsurance business
  • Follow up for additional information from brokers
  • Help with risk modeling and rating
  • Engage with clients as needed and deliver excellent service.

Qualifications, Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • 1-3 years' experience working in the US or international insurance or reinsurance industry.
  • Prior experience in property underwriting is preferred, however claims or brokerage experience also acceptable.
  • CPCU or other relevant industry courses are helpful.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:
  • Fluent in English and Spanish required. Proficiency in Portuguese or other languages is a plus.
  • Prior experience in Nat CAT or risk modeling is a plus.
  • Possess analytical abilities
  • Needs to be very detail oriented, organized, and have ability to multi-task and balance priorities.
  • Good communication skills and collaborative spirit.
  • Comfortable taking initiative to achieve objectives and open to receiving feedback from colleagues and peers.
  • Opportunity for advancement so candidates should be interested in progressing into the position of property facultative underwriter.
  • Possess good computer skills, including proficiency of the various Microsoft programs
  • Intermediate Mathematical skills
  • Proficient in Excel
