Role Overview

We are seeking a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support our busy, outpatient pediatrics office onsite located at One Parkway in Haverhill, MA. The LPN will participate in the plan to provide competent, compassionate nursing care to adolescents, children, infants and families under the direct guidance of a Physician or Advanced Practitioner. This position offers potential for 1 day per week remote (based on performance, after the successful completion of the orientation/training program and the first 90 days).The hours for this position are Monday through Friday 9am-5:30pm.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Assist physician/advanced practitioner during examination, treatment and testing of patient.
  • Administer vaccinations/immunizations, prepare patient charts, and assist in easing the flow of the office for providers and patients.
  • Assist in lab specimen preparation; follow up on results as needed.
  • Education of patients and families regarding proper use of common medications and prescribed medical equipment.
  • Triage incoming telephone calls. Contact pharmacies with new prescriptions and refills; return all patient calls within established timelines. Notify patients of test results, call acutely ill patients to check progress, follow-up on emergency room visits, document all information relating to patient care in the EMR system.
  • Oversee patient appointments and maintain daily schedule for the team.
  • Coordinate diagnostic tests and admissions; appointments for patients referred to outside physicians.
  • Provides letters, school and medication forms and other documentation as requested.
  • Travel to alternate offices within the practice as necessary and perform all duties as required by each location.
  • Assist in training new staff in all tasks.

Qualifications

Education
  • Current Massachusetts' licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse required
Experience
  • Previous experience in a community based medical practice preferred
  • Previous experience in a pediatric health care setting preferred
